Ogun State Governor Reiterates Support for Young Farmers, Investors

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has affirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting young farmers and investors in land clearing, preparation, and mechanization for agriculture. The primary objectives are to ensure food security and simultaneously address the issue of unemployment within the state.

During the grand finale of the 37th Lisabi Day celebration in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun highlighted the accomplishments of the Anchor Borrowers Scheme in the state, noting that it has played a pivotal role in nurturing over 40,000 agripreneurs. The governor, represented by his deputy, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasized that the theme of the celebration, ‘Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurship in Agric Business: Panacea for Solving Youth Unemployment in Egbaland,’ resonates with his administration’s dedication to empowering youths for agricultural growth.

Ogun State has maintained its status as a major global producer of cassava, showcasing strengths in cassava production, poultry farming, fish production, and animal husbandry, according to Governor Abiodun. These sectors contribute significantly to the state’s agricultural landscape.

In his remarks, the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, acknowledged the success of the Lisabi festival and expressed gratitude to Egba sons and daughters for their financial support. Oba Gbadebo further announced plans to empower Egba indigenes through Lisabi palliatives and educational support for students.
