Ogun State Ministry of Justice Moves to Prosecute TikTok Creator DJ Chicken Over Multiple Reckless Driving Incidents

Following a series of traffic incidents raising public safety concerns, the Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute TikTok content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken.

This decision comes after Abiodun allegedly caused a collision involving two motorcycles in Sagamu, Ogun State, on November 1, 2025, which resulted in serious injuries to a rider and a female passenger. Witnesses reported that Abiodun attempted to flee the scene before being stopped by bystanders.

The government also revealed that Abiodun was involved in another crash on Sunday in Lekki, Lagos State, narrowly avoiding pedestrians. This marks his third reported incident.

A statement released on the ministry’s official X account stated, “Mr. Abiodun’s reckless return to driving just three weeks after the first incident underscores the need for the state to act in order to safeguard the public—particularly amid growing public outcry against his continued reckless driving.”

It further emphasized that while civil compensation for crash victims is appropriate, some drivers pose a significant danger to society and should be held accountable under criminal law.

The ministry also announced that the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed relevant authorities to expedite the investigation and prosecution of the Sagamu crash case.

The Ogun State government reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with law enforcement agencies to protect citizens from reckless drivers.
