Ogun State Police Apprehend Serial Car Thief Caught in the Act

On Saturday, the Ogun State Police Command successfully arrested a notorious car thief, Sunday Dosunmu, in Leme, Abeokuta. The 53-year-old suspect was caught red-handed attempting to remove cars using locally-fabricated skeleton keys. This arrest comes after Dosunmu’s previous offense in 2022 when he was apprehended while trying to steal a car from a park with his syndicate in Olorunsogo. The swift action of vigilant individuals and the cooperation with law enforcement led to the suspect’s capture.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, revealed that Dosunmu was sighted near a car on Saturday, prompting concerned citizens to raise the alarm. Fleeing from the scene, Dosunmu was pursued by determined individuals who eventually caught up with him. The police were promptly notified and arrived at the scene to apprehend the suspect. During the arrest, two fabricated iron master keys were discovered in Dosunmu’s possession, which he used to unlock unsuspecting car owners’ vehicles.

The Ogun State Police Command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents. The suspect will face legal consequences for his repeated offenses once the investigation is concluded. This successful operation highlights the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement in combating crime. The police urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain a safe environment for all.
