Ogun State Police Arrest Three Suspects in Isara Remo for Robbery of Gateway Polytechnic Students
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with the robbery of students from Gateway Polytechnic Saapade.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests, stating that Musa Adamu, Marasa Aliu, and Yahaya Muhammed were taken into custody following a break-in at the residence of some students in the Obalende area of Isara Remo on January 8, 2024.
The incidents of robbery and attacks on students had been a cause for concern, with previous incidents resulting in the unfortunate loss of two students’ lives and injuries to several others. These incidents prompted the management of the institution to suspend physical classes and advise students to stay away from the school for a period of two weeks.
According to the police spokesperson, some students who returned from the holidays discovered that their apartments had been burgled, with items such as a refrigerator being stolen. The investigation led to the arrest of Adamu and two other suspects involved in the crime.
Prior to this, eight other individuals had already been apprehended in connection with the robberies and killings that occurred between November and December of the previous year.
