Ogun State Police Discover Decomposing Body of 45-Year-Old Woman in Apartment

The Ogun State Police Command has reported a disturbing incident involving the discovery of a decomposing body of a 45-year-old woman, identified as Tolulope Olusanya, in her apartment in Abeokuta.

According to the police, the woman’s landlord, Adebesin Adebayo, raised an alarm after noticing that she had not been seen for several days, prompting an investigation into her disappearance. The police subsequently found her body in her apartment, with signs suggesting that she may have taken her own life.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, explained that the landlord reported his concerns to the Kemta Divisional Police Station on Monday evening, stating that he had not seen the deceased for several days. When the landlord attempted to check on her, he found that her apartment was locked from the inside, and a strong unpleasant odor was emanating from within. The police were notified, and detectives from the Kemta Division arrived at the scene to investigate. After breaking into the apartment, they found the deceased’s body lying on the bed, swollen and decomposing.

The police are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, but initial indications suggest that she may have taken her own life. However, the police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to confirm the cause of death. The police spokesperson noted that efforts to contact the woman’s family have been unsuccessful, as no immediate relatives could be reached. Additionally, attempts to transport her body to the nearest hospital were delayed due to concerns about potential infection and the lack of medical equipment to handle the situation safely.

The police are urging anyone who may be struggling with difficult emotions or thoughts to reach out to trusted friends, family, or mental health professionals for support. The Ogun State Police Command is also working to raise awareness about the importance of seeking help and the resources available to those in need.
