Ogun State Residents Commend Government’s Progress on Magboro–Makogi Road Construction, Urge for Swift Completion

Residents of the Magboro–Makogi community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area have expressed their appreciation to the Ogun State Government for the ongoing construction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro–Makogi Road. They view the project as a crucial development that will significantly enhance mobility and stimulate socio-economic activities within the area.

The road, which is being constructed with concrete interlocking to effectively combat persistent waterlogging issues, is making steady progress. During an inspection visit on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, emphasized that the project is part of the state’s broader initiative to expand durable infrastructure across Ogun.

Residents who attended the inspection praised the quality and standard of the work so far. They noted that once completed, the road would ease transportation, boost local businesses, and improve the community’s visual appeal.

Representing shop owners, Mr. Uche Okoro and Alhaji Wasiu Sanusi commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural development throughout the state. They, however, urged for an expedited completion, as the road is vital for both residents and commercial activities.

“We are thankful for this project. It will bring significant relief to everyone here. Our only request is for the construction to be finished as soon as possible,” they stated.

In response, Engr. Akinsanya revealed that he had instructed the contractor to accelerate work and take advantage of the dry season to ensure timely completion.

“The government is committed to delivering this project promptly and to the highest standards. With the rains easing, the contractor has been advised to intensify efforts so residents can start enjoying the benefits of the new road soon,” the Commissioner assured.

Project Manager Mr. Jason Zhang also assured that the road would be completed according to specifications and within the agreed timeframe, appreciating the cooperation of both the residents and the state government.
