Ogun State Set to Replicate Rungis Farmer’s Market, Boosting Food Security and Agribusiness

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced plans to replicate the Rungis Farmer’s Market, a 234-hectare global model for agricultural trade, in the state.

This initiative aims to position Ogun State as a major logistics hub for food production, import, and export, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for food security.

According to Governor Abiodun, the project will cover key sectors such as fruits, vegetables, poultry, and cattle, reinforcing the state’s dedication to agribusiness, economic growth, and creating sustainable opportunities for its people.

The governor hosted Mr. Timothée Witkowski, Head of International Projects, and Dr. Sonia Darracq, Regional Agricultural Counsellor from the French Embassy in Abuja, on a familiarization and working visit to Ogun State, where discussions centered on the project’s implementation.
