Ogun State to Promote Tourism and Culture Through Ongoing Sports Festival

The Ogun State Government has announced plans to highlight its rich cultural heritage and tourism potential during the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), known as the Gateway Games, taking place in Abeokuta.

 

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications, Mr. Dare Odufowokan, during a press briefing on Monday in Abeokuta.

 

He said the festival was not just about sports, but an opportunity to promote the state’s cultural heritage and hospitality.

 

“The festival is not about sports; it’s about celebrating our culture, promoting unity, and boosting tourism,” he said.

 

Mr. Dare Odufowokan encouraged media outlets to portray Ogun State positively by emphasizing its core values, hospitality, and rich cultural identity.

 

Similarly, Adekunle Solaja, Chairman of the NSF Media Sub-Committee, urged journalists to actively promote the festival, describing it as a crucial avenue for advancing sports and engaging the youth.
