Olori Remo Association Marks 5th Anniversary with Launch of Resilience Network NGO

The Olori Remo Association celebrated its 5th anniversary on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with the launch of the Olori Remo Resilience Network, now incorporated as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The event, held with great pomp and pageantry, was attended by esteemed guests and dignitaries, reflecting the significance of the occasion in Remo Land.

The celebration, which took place after the arrival of distinguished guests, saw the presence of notable figures including Her Excellency Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State; HRM Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Paramount Ruler of Remo Land; His Excellency Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel; Aare Dr. Kola Oyefeso, Patron; Chief Mrs. Folashade Ogunbiyi, Matron and many other highly esteemed guests.

The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the national anthem of Nigeria, anthem of Ogun State and Remo Land. The Chairman of the Planning Committee then delivered a welcome address, which was interspersed with a vibrant cultural dance performance. The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Olori Olubukola Osiberu, President of the Olori Remo Association, who expressed deep gratitude for the support the association has received.

“I want to sincerely express my profound gratitude to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, for his double role as our father and the husband to all the Oloris in Remo Land,” Olori Osiberu said. She also thanked the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, and his wife, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, along with other dignitaries, for their continuous support.

Olori Osiberu outlined the association’s accomplishments, including the establishment of the NGO, distribution of exercise books to schools in Remo Land, donations to motherless babies’ homes, and payment of NECO fees for prison inmates. She also announced future projects such as adopting one school yearly in each of the three local governments to meet identified needs, sponsoring WAEC and NECO examinations for brilliant but indigent students, and conducting annual sensitization programs on career choices, violence, and underage pregnancy.

The Akarigbo, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the association’s mission and commending the Oloris for their dedication. The formal launch of the Olori Remo Resilience Network was followed by an evening filled with music, camaraderie, and enjoyment.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing prayer, leaving attendees with a sense of pride and anticipation for the association’s future endeavors. The Olori Remo Association’s commitment to community development and support for the less privileged continues to inspire and impact lives in Remo Land.
