Olu of Orile-Ilawo appeals to police to investigate alleged incitement of violence

The Olu of Orile-Ilawo, Oba Alexander Macgregor, has appealed to the police command to investigate Lawrence Ogunsanya and five others for allegedly inciting violence against his installation as the traditional ruler of the community.
In a petition, the Olu of Orile-Ilawo accused the suspects of mobilizing and inciting insurrection against him by urging their supporters to resist and counteract his directives, insisting that Ogunsanya is the lawfully elected Olu of Orile-Ilawo.
The Olu of Orile-Ilawo has been presented with the staff of office by the governor of Ogun State. However, Ogunsanya and his supporters have refused to accept this and have been causing unrest within the community.
In several videos circulating within the community, Ogunsanya has boasted that if his supporters carry out their heinous activities against the Olu of Orile-Ilawo and are arrested, he will ensure that none of them is sent to jail or convicted for such heinous activities.
The Olu of Orile-Ilawo has called on the police to investigate the matter and bring the suspects to justice. The alleged incitement of violence is a serious offense, and the Olu of Orile-Ilawo is concerned about the safety and security of his community.
