One Confirmed dead in Third Mainland Bridge Accident
A tragic accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos has resulted in one confirmed fatality. The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) reported that the incident took place on Thursday night near the UNILAG Waterfront, while traveling towards Adekunle.
The crash involved a loaded mini truck that reportedly lost control, leading to the fatal outcome. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
In a statement posted on their X handle, LASTMA indicated that their traffic management team promptly responded to the scene, deploying officers to manage traffic and reduce disruptions.
“A lone accident has occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge, near Unilag Waterfront, heading toward Adekunle, involving a loaded mini truck. Unfortunately, there has been one reported casualty. Efforts are currently ongoing to manage the situation, with officers on the ground working to ease traffic flow,” the agency noted.
