One Dead, Another Arrested in Ogun State Cult Clash

A violent clash between rival cult groups in Ogun State on Tuesday has resulted in the death of one cultist and the subsequent arrest of another.

The Ogun State Police Command reported a tragic incident stemming from a clash between rival cult groups in the state. The clash resulted in the death of one individual identified as Segun, also known as “Ojo Ibo,” whose right wrist was reportedly chopped off during the confrontation. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on the 14th of May, 2024, at Bode Olude Junction, where Segun was allegedly pursued and attacked by members of a rival cult group.

In a statement released on X, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating, “Death of a cultist: May, 2024. One Segun aka ‘Ojo Ibo was killed and his right wrist chopped off, at about 2130hrs of 14th May, 2024 after being chased by a rival cult at Bode Olude Junction.”
