One Year After Return to Office, Sagamu LG Chairman Showcases Legacy Projects and Renewed Vision

One year after his return to office with what he described as a renewed mandate, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has outlined the major strides his administration has made in rebuilding infrastructure and strengthening institutions across the local government area.

In a statement commemorating the milestone, Odulate said the past year was dedicated to establishing structures and laying a solid foundation that would endure beyond the present administration. He highlighted several projects completed or advanced within the period, calling them “Legacy Projects” that reflect commitments made to the people of Sagamu.

Among the notable developments is the newly constructed IT Centre built in honour of the late Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA). Odulate said the centre stands as both a tribute and an investment in the future, adding that efforts are ongoing to fully equip it so it can begin serving young people across the local government.

The chairman also cited the comprehensive renovation and remodelling of the Legislative Building, alongside the upgrade of Sode Road and multiple internal roads, as significant achievements since his return. He noted that these interventions have improved workspaces, modernised facilities, and eased daily life for residents.

Odulate attributed the progress to the cooperation of his team, acknowledging his Vice Chairman, Comrade Isiaka Salami, the executive cabinet, and the 10th Legislative Council led by Hon. Emmanuel Babalola. He equally commended LG administrators, staff, party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and party members for their steady support. His media team and partners, he added, have been instrumental in amplifying the administration’s work.

He expressed gratitude to his family for their support through the demands of governance.

Odulate reserved special appreciation for the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, describing his guidance and support as vital to the projects now being celebrated. He also extended thanks to traditional rulers, particularly His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, for his consistent counsel and encouragement.

The chairman assured residents that the accomplishments recorded since his return represent only a fraction of what his administration intends to deliver before the end of the term.
