Osun State Governor Charges NYSC Members to Make Positive Impact

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to embrace diversity, promote inclusivity, and strive to make a positive difference in their assigned communities.

Adeleke delivered this charge during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch A Stream II orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede, Osun State. Adeleke emphasized the importance of the corps members viewing themselves as ambassadors of Nigeria and utilizing their service year to acquire new skills for personal growth and national development.

Addressing the corps members, Adeleke underscored the values of unity, patriotism, and selfless service embedded in the NYSC scheme. He urged them to embrace diversity and foster inclusivity while making concerted efforts to leave a lasting positive impact wherever they are deployed. Additionally, Adeleke called on the corps members to uphold the ideals of the NYSC and to seize the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of society.

Echoing Adeleke’s sentiments, the Osun State NYSC Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, urged the corps members to embody discipline, integrity, and selflessness as they embark on their primary assignments. Obim encouraged them to approach their tasks with dedication and innovation, emphasizing the importance of passion for national development and a commitment to improving the lives of those they serve.

He reminded the corps members that the skills acquired during their orientation course would equip them to become self-reliant individuals capable of making meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic progress.
