PDP Governors Convene in Oyo for Meeting
Governors representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have gathered at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, for a private meeting set to take place in the Executive Council Chamber.
Leading the delegation is Senator Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State. The host governor, Seyi Makinde, who hosted a dinner for the visiting governors on Sunday night, is anticipated to join the meeting shortly.
Notably absent from the dinner was the Forum’s Vice Chairman, Siminalayi Fubara, the embattled Governor of Rivers State, raising uncertainty about his attendance at Monday’s meeting.
Among the governors already in attendance are Senator Douye Diri from Bayelsa, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Caleb Mutfwang from Plateau, Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori from Delta, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Peter Mbah of Enugu, and Dauda Lawal from Zamfara.
As of this report, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State had not yet arrived. Although he was present at the Sunday night gala, he reportedly returned to Osun to address urgent state matters but is expected back in Ibadan for the meeting.
