Piers Morgan Criticizes England’s Euro 2024 Performance
British television personality Piers Morgan has harshly criticized the England football team for their lackluster performances at Euro 2024. Despite reaching the quarter-finals, where they will face Switzerland on Saturday, the Three Lions have failed to impress, according to Morgan.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Morgan expressed his frustration with the team’s performance, describing the players as a “bunch of muted, terrified snails.” England which boast of prolific goal scorers like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Phil Foden now struggles to win a match. “Harry Kane was the best player in the Bundesliga, Jude Bellingham the best player in La Liga, Phil Foden the best player in the Premier League,” Morgan pointed out.
Morgan questioned why such top-tier talent isn’t translating into dominant performances on the international stage. “Why are we playing like the way we’re playing? These are the best players in Europe. They’ve won all the awards for their leagues but they’re playing like a bunch of muted, terrified snails,” he added.
