Police Apprehend Three Alleged Indian Hemp Sellers in Ogun State
In a recent operation, the Ogun State Police Command has successfully arrested three individuals for their alleged involvement in selling Indian hemp in the Ifo Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests, revealing that the anti-robbery squad made the apprehension during a routine patrol last Saturday. The suspects, including Olashile Mustapha, Babatunde Ahmed, and Gbenga Adekanbi, attempted to escape upon sighting the police patrol but were pursued and apprehended.
Prior to their arrest, the police revealed that the trio had ties to two notorious gang members, Oloyo and Surulere, known for terrorizing the local community. Upon frisking the suspects, a considerable amount of substance suspected to be Indian hemp was discovered. The police indicated that a preliminary investigation would be conducted, and the suspects would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further processing.
Omolola Odutola confirmed the imminent prosecution of the three suspects once the investigation is concluded, emphasizing that the substance found on them is suspected to be Indian hemp.
