Police Declare Zero Tolerance for Assaults on Officers and Personnel

The Police have declared that it will no longer tolerate assaults or attacks on its officers and personnel.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, stated this during a visit to the Enugu State Command on Friday.

Egbetokun emphasised that any form of assault on police officers is a criminal act and an attack on the institution as a whole.

He assured that such incidents would be met with a firm and appropriate response, adding that justice would be served in every case.

“We will not tolerate any assault on our police officers, not to talk of killing,” Egbetokun stated. “An assault on a policeman is criminal, is an assault on the IG, and we are not going to condone any act of assault on our officers, not to talk of killing any of our officers.”
