Presidency Pleads Patience Amidst Mounting Pressure of Minimum Wage Approval

The Presidency, amidst the ongoing minimum wage negotiation, have issued a statement pleading that the NLC and TUC show forbearance as Bola Ahmed Tinubu will see to the approval of the minimum wage bill when it is right.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this plea on Monday over a telephone conversation with The Punch.

We recollect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his Democracy Broadcast claimed the government and labour had reached a consensus which is, the minimum wage being pegged at #60,000. However, the labour came forth and debunked that.

The labour, for a while now, have been expectant and curious as to what the next line of action from the government is, as the call for a NEC closed door meeting hinges on a timely approval of the minimum wage bill.
