President Tinubu Reiterates Commitment to Economic Reforms and Business Growth

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing essential economic reforms, fostering business growth, and creating investment opportunities. During a meeting with a delegation from the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), led by Florizelle Liser, President and CEO of CCA, Tinubu emphasized his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s economic development and stability.

The President commended the recent installation of a 45,000-kilometer submarine fiber optic cable in Akwa Ibom State, enabling connectivity for the entire South-South region with Europe and other parts of Africa. Tinubu highlighted the importance of sound policies, partnerships, and determination in overcoming longstanding development challenges.

Drawing on his extensive experience in corporate governance and past interactions with CCA during his tenure as governor of Lagos State, Tinubu expressed happiness about the Council’s interest in various segments of Nigeria’s economy. He acknowledged existing challenges but conveyed confidence in overcoming them with a can-do attitude.

Tinubu reiterated his commitment to creating a conducive business environment, supporting Nigeria’s growing population. He pledged increased investment in key sectors such as agriculture, solid minerals, energy, health, infrastructure, trade, financial services, digital enterprise, and the creative economy. Security, education, and partnerships with organizations like CCA were also highlighted as essential components of his administration’s agenda.

In response, Florizelle Liser conveyed CCA’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth, aligning with the eight priority areas outlined by President Tinubu’s administration. She invited the President to participate in CCA’s US-Africa Business Summit in May in Dallas, Texas, emphasizing CCA as a potential partner in enhancing USA-Nigeria trade, business, and investment.
