Pupils Encouraged To Give Their Best Towards Academics- Mr Dapo. 

The Commissioner for Finance and the Chief Economic Adviser to the state government, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo has distributed over 2,500 bags and books to learners in schools in Ijebu-Ode as part of its support to the education sector.

 

In his remarks at the programme which was put together by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, took place at the Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode had 49 primary schools, including schools for children with special needs and 27 secondary schools in present, said the initiative which aligned with the state government vision to make education affordable and accessible to all its learners and to also compliment the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s efforts to improve the quality and standard of education in the state.

 

Okubadejo also revealed its plan to initiate scholarships for students in Ijebu-Ode and payment of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for 100 students, this he posited would alleviate the worries of parents that have financial constraints in that aspect.

 

He encouraged the learners to continue to give their best towards their academics, saying with education, there would not be a limit to their achievement in life, with promised that he would not relent in supporting learners through such initiatives to attain the best in their future endeavors.

 

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu appreciated the notable gesture and expressed government readiness to continue to solicit for more support in order to provide conducive learning environment void of any encumbrances for its learners.

 

Arigbabu said the governor through its many initiatives has done a lot to improve standard and revitalize the education sector, he noted that the best 7 learners in all the arms of classes were picked as the beneficiaries, he therefore charged the beneficiaries to not rest in their pursuits for excellence.

 

In their goodwill messages, the Principal General, Ijebu bloc, Mrs. Adeyemi Olaitan and the President of All Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Mr. Edward Adekoya commended the donor and posited that the donation would motivate the learners to be more diligent in their studies.
