Re-Opening of Commercial Banks in Sagamu: Akarigbo’s Representatives Meets With Wema Bank Management
On Thursday, 30th March, 2023, a high level delegation of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, (Torungbuwa II), the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland met with the top management of Wema Bank Plc at the corporate headquarters, Wema Towers, 54, Marina, Lagos to deliver a royal emissary message on the need to re-open commercial banking activities in Sagamu.
The Akarigbo’s royal delegation to Wema Bank Plc corporate headquarters in Marina, Lagos State was led by Asiwaju Solomon Kayode Onafowokan, OON, the Asiwaju of Remoland and Board of Trustees member, RemoGDF. Others were also high ranking members of RemoGDF namely; Mr. Jide Ogunkoya, Esq., Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, Engr. (Olootu) Oyekanmi Oduguwa and Princess Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi.
The executive management of Wema Bank Plc led by its Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Moruf Oseni warmly received the royal delegation to their corporate headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
Other top management team of Wema Bank Plc in attendance were; Mr. Wole Akinleye, Deputy Managing Director, Wema Bank Plc.; Mr. Tunde Mabawonku, Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Oluwole Ajimisinmi, Executive Director, Lagos Business Directorate and Mr. Olukayode Bakare, Divisional Head, Treasury and Global Trade Group.
The royal message of the Grand Patron of RemoGDF, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, (Torungbuwa II), Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland was read and presented to the Managing Director/CEO, Wema Bank Plc, Mr. Moruf Oseni by Princess Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi.
Mr. Jide Ogunkoya, Esq., informed the Wema Bank Plc management the immediate actions had been taken by His Royal Majesty, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland and other activities sought to be executed in the future.
In his remarks, the Managing Director/CEO, Wema Bank Plc, Mr. Oseni appreciated the magnanimity and wisdom of His Royal Majesty, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland for the visit made by the delegation of RemoGDF.
Mr. Oseni gave historical background of the origination of the Wema Bank Plc bank from Iperu Remo and its affinity with Sir (Dr.) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, CFR, the Balogun of Remoland, Odole-Oodua of the Source and Chairman, BoT, RemoGDF.
In addition to his remarks, Mr. Moruf Oseni retrietrated that, an immediate action and activity had been put into operation to expedite action on the bank reopening in Sagamu.
He thanked the delegation for the visit whilst soliciting for more business from Remo indigenes.
