REMO DAY GRAND FINALE: A RESOUNDING CELEBRATION OF CULTURE, TRADITION, COMMUNITY HISTORY

The Remo Day grand finale was a momentous occasion, marked by vibrant cultural displays and stunning attire. The event took place on December 27th at the iconic Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ikenne Road, bringing together dignitaries, cultural groups, and communities from across Remo land.
The festivities commenced with an opening prayer led by Most Rev. Bishop Fape and Alh. Sheu Tajudeen Asaye, setting the tone for a joyous celebration. HRM Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi delivered a heartfelt welcome address, welcoming dignitaries and guests to the event.
“As a united community, Remoland has achieved remarkable progress in agriculture, industrialization, education, and technology. With the Ogun State Gateway International Airport and the Agro-Cargo Special Processing Zone, Remoland continues to play a pivotal role in our state’s development.
“This celebration underscores the unity, resilience, and cultural pride that define Remoland. It serves as an inspiration for us all to foster socio-economic growth and unlock tourism potential across our state” Governor Dapo Abiodun said in his address.
The event was graced by prominent personalities, including Femi Gbajabiamila (Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria), Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun (the wife of the Governor of Ogun State), Engr. Noimot Salako (Deputy Governor of Ogun State), Otunba Gbenga Daniel (Member of the Senate of Nigeria), sir kessington Adebutu, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Samsudeen Apelogun (Allrounder), Dr. Adetola Emmanuel-King (Adron), HRH Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adedeji Adebayo (The Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo), Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona (Awujale of Ijebu Land), Oba Razak Adenugba (Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye), and all Obas of Remo land, among others.
The atmosphere was electric, with Labi Obey juju live band providing the perfect soundtrack for the festivities. Different cultural groups showcased Remo’s rich cultural heritage, including traditional dances, music, and attire. Clubs and communities dazzled in their colorful attire, parading before the Kings and other prominent guests in alphabetical order.
The event got rounded off with a Royal banquet, with HRM Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, other Dignitaries and Remo Kings moving to the Akarigbo Palace, Ita Oba, to wine and dine and celebrate the successful conclusion of Remo Day.
