The newly established Remo & Ijebu Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has officially been inaugurated,on Thursday 29th May 2025 marking a significant milestone in the development of human resource management in the region. The event, which took place at the Event hall of Hilltop Hotel Sagamu was graced by distinguished dignitaries, royal fathers, and prospective members, underscoring the importance of professional development in the community.The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the chapter’s executive committee, led by Prince Akinde Adebayo ACIPM, who was sworn in as Chairman. He was supported by Mrs. Gbemisola Alakija ACIPM as Vice Chairman, Babatunde Awoyemi as General Secretary, Emmanuel Adeyemi Da-Souza as Public Relations Officer, Dr. Bukola Aguddah as Treasurer, and Babatunde Badejo as Assistant General Secretary. The new executives expressed their commitment to advancing human resource management practices within Remo, Ijebu and beyond.

 

Mrs. Oladunni Olusola Adetona ACIPM, Ogun State Chairman of CIPM, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of establishing the chapter to promote professional excellence and uphold the standards of CIPM in the region. She expressed optimism that the new chapter would serve as a vital platform for local HR professionals to collaborate, share knowledge, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the area.

 

In his inaugural address, Chairman Prince Akinde Adebayo elaborated extensively on the activities and goals of CIPM. He highlighted initiatives aimed at capacity building, mentorship, and fostering ethical HR practices. He also called on members to actively participate in professional development programs and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the region’s human resource capabilities.

 

The event was also attended by prospective members, including notable figures such as Dr. Olusanya Nasiru Olawale, CEO of Tayelolu Farms Ltd., who expressed interest in joining the institute to enhance his organization’s HR standards. The presence of Royal Fathers — the Orimadegun of Araromi Sagamu, Oba Oguntade, and the Ologijo of Ogijo — underscored the cultural significance of the occasion and the support from traditional leadership for professional development initiatives in the community.

 

The ceremony concluded with a call for unity among HR practitioners and a shared vision to elevate the standards of personnel management in Remo Ijebu, fostering sustainable growth and development. The establishment of the CIPM Remo Ijebu Chapter signifies a new era of professional excellence and community empowerment through human resource management.
