Remo Methodist High School Honours Graduating Students at Valedictory and Prize-giving Ceremony

Remo Methodist High School honored her graduating class on July 25, 2024, with an inspiring valedictory service. The event, held at the school, was a day of reflection and celebration, bringing together students, families, and distinguished guests.
The ceremony commenced with a procession of the graduates, followed by an opening address from the school’s principal, Mr. J.O. Oyebisi. He praised the students for their resilience and dedication, particularly during challenging times. Senior student, Sunday Oyinlola delivered a heartfelt speech, sharing personal experiences and highlighting the class’s collective achievements. She encouraged her peers to “embrace the future with confidence and courage” and urged them to “never stop learning and growing.”
Distinguished guests include; Mr. Ayo Mayungbo, Chief Mrs. A.O. Odutayo (Mother of the Day), Reverend Bishop J.B. Ibikunle (Chairman, Board of Governing Council), Chief Olu Ayodele (Father of the Day), Sir Teju Ogunjimi (Chairman, Advisory Council), Mrs. Mopelola Osolukoya, Mrs. Afolabi, Mr. and Mrs. Oyedele, Mr. and Mrs. Awomade, Mrs. Adenike Alhaja Lamidi, Mrs. Ejifunmilayo Abosede, and Barrister Felix.
Guest speaker Barrister Odugbemi addressed the graduates, offering words of wisdom and congratulating them on their accomplishments.
The service featured the presentation of awards, recognizing students for their academic excellence. In the Junior Secondary School category, Gbadejo Alim received the Best Student Award with a score of 89.92, followed by Afolabi Flourish with 85.33, and Ayedun Esther with 83.67. In the Senior Secondary School category, Ogunsanmi Tobiloba led with a score of 75.4, followed by Oyedele Fiyinfoluwa Triumphant with 74.3, and Sunday Oyinlola with 70.0. Gifts were also presented to all graduating students.
In his concluding remarks, Principal, Mr. J.O. Oyebisi expressed pride in the accomplishments of the graduating class and optimism for their future endeavors. The ceremony concluded with a traditional graduation song.
The valedictory service was a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of the students, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one in their lives. The event concluded with a closing hymn and prayer.
