RemoGDF award winners of akarigbo football cup 2022
On the 27th of December 2022, Remo growth and development foundation present awards to the winners of the 2022 edition of Akarigbo’s cup, played in celebration of the Akarigbo’s 60th birthday and 5th coronation anniversary. The winners are Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo north football teams.
In attendance are dignitaries, football officials and personalities Among which is; chairman of RemoGDF Otunba Tunji Solarin, Chief Mrs. Falilat Ogunkoya MON, Rev Olukoya representing the organization of referees Ogun state chapter, Omoba Abiola Ogundeko, prince Adekunle acting General manager RemoGDF, Mr. Osuolale David, divisional sport coordinator Remo land and lots more.
Omoba Abiola in his speech stated how keen RemoGDF is to promoting Remo to the whole world. He claimed that with future relationship between RGDF and Remo sports development council, more Falilat Ogunkoya and more Anthony Joshua and Tobi amusan will be discovered. He, however, appreciated the chairman of RGDF for how much he’s putting to ensure things continues to move forward as planned and expected.
The third position (Remo North) was awarded with a cheque and an extra 50,000 Naira cash. In the second position, Sagamu was presented with a cheque and an extra cash Price. The first position was also presented with a cheque and an extra cash Price.
The captain of the winning team, Samuel Bamgboye, in his remark, appreciated the host and chairman RemoGDF for this great feat and hoped this good gesture continues.
Chief Mrs. Falilat Ogunkoya encouraged the players to continue on what they do, and ensure to listen to their coaches always without any negative doubt or withdrawal.
Otunba Tunji Lawal Solarin in his address showed how impressed he was with the performances of all the players and appreciated Hon KUNLE Soname for the Remo stars stadium project
“This is not just a ceremony, but a long-time relationship with you all, as this is not going to end any time soon. Don’t get discouraged and stay focused”.
“I’m happy they you all are spread around Remo land because what we do at RemoGDF is develop youth around Remo”he added.
Otunba however unveiled That there will be a collaboration “MOU” with Remo sport development council, and plan formally for the new year coming, as many things will be done concerning sport. He revealed that a Golf training pitch will be built, primarily to train the youth in Remo land.
He confirmed that the event will henceforth become a yearly event in the celebration of the king’s birthday and anniversary.
It was an event of joy and celebration as young footballers now believe hope is back to Remo football community.
