RESIDENTS GROAN OVER THE DEPLORABLE STATE OF IWELEPE ROAD, OKE-EGUN TOLLGATE, OGUN STATE
Residents around the Oke-Egun tollgate have lamented over the poor state the Iwelepe road is in, the road which connects communities like Kujore and Igbepa has been neglected over time, and a part of it eroded.
Speaking to our Correspondents, a business owner who sells motor parts lamented that owing to the bad road he had suffered low patronage as those who plied the road usually used bikes or trekked
“Car owners don’t pass through here like they used to, as you can see, part of the road has been washed off, the rest is covered in mud the only people that use this road frequently are bike men, the rest use their legs,” he said.
Another motorist said he avoided using the road because most times he ended up in the mechanic workshop whenever he passed by that route.
“This road has been like this for a very long time now, the government obviously don’t care about it, we have appealed to them to help us severally, but they haven’t responded, this is a major road but because of how bad it is, few people use it again, they prefer using longer routes.
“Passing here at night is dangerous because of how deserted it has become, there was even a time some criminals used to rob people of their phones, the vigilantes were able to curtail their activities, but right now, we are still calling on the government and well-meaning individuals for help” he added
