RIDSCO IN COLLABORATION WITH LAFARGE PLC GRANTS N7,500,000 MILION BURSARY ALLOWANCE TO 100 SAGAMU INDIGENENT STUDENTS

With a motive to assisting in the Educational development of the “not so financially buoyant”, The Royal Initiative for the Development Of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo) in conjunction with Lafarge Plc, on Thursday, 20th October, 2022, made a donation of Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N7,500,000) as Bursary Allowance to 100 indigent students of Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogun state.

The presentation of the cheque to beneficiaries took place at the Sagamu Civic Center,Oba Awolesi Erinwole Road, Sagamu, with beneficiaries being students of public tertiary institutions spread across the country.

Speaking at the event, The Consultant on the 2022 RIDSCo/Lafarge Bursary Awards Scheme, retired Principal, Otunba T.O. Saibu, informed the gathering that 312 students had applied online, and after sorting by eliminating double registrations, those not in the penultimate class and from Sagamu Local Government, the figure went down to 198 who eventally sat for the written test, out which the receipients were picked based on their performance.

He thanked RIDSCo/Lafarge for giving him and his team the opportunity to serve the community.

The beneficiaries expressed immense gratitude to RIDSCo/Lafarge, while pledging to excel in their educational pursuit to make the entire local government proud and contribute meaningfully to its development
