Sagamu Excited for 40th Sagamu Day Anniversary Celebration, Unveils 8-Day Activity Schedule

The Sagamu Development Association has announced plans to celebrate the 40th Sagamu Day anniversary, scheduled to hold from October 18 to 26, 2024. The eight-day celebration promises to be a memorable event, featuring a range of activities that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Sagamu.
To kick off the celebrations, prayers will be held in all mosques across Sagamu on Friday, October 18, while prayers will also be held in all churches on Sunday, October 20. This interfaith initiative aims to foster unity and spiritual growth within the community.
On Thursday, October 24, the focus shifts to youth empowerment, with various programmes designed to engage and inspire the younger generation. These initiatives are crucial for the development of Sagamu’s future leaders.
The highlight of the celebration takes place on Friday, October 25, with a trio of exciting events. The yearly traditional visit to the Eri Traditional Grove will commence proceedings, followed by a vibrant cultural display at the Akarigbo Palace. The evening will culminate in the Eboripo night at the Remo Traditional Hall, Ita-OBA, Sagamu.
The grand finale, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, will feature a homage tribute to the Akarigbo and other obas by Egbes clubs and associations.
According to the Sagamu Development Association, the public is invited to participate in the celebrations, promising an unforgettable experience that showcases the town’s rich history and cultural diversity.
