Sagamu LG Chairman Mourns Victim of Fatal Ewusi Road Accident, Promises Swift Action

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Mr. Olajide Oyeleke, who lost his life in a fatal road accident along Ewusi Road, near Royal Chemist in Sagamu.

Odulate, who received a distress call early Monday morning, immediately visited the scene of the incident alongside his Vice Chairman, councillors, and political appointees. While at the location, the council boss engaged with eyewitnesses and residents, who voiced their concerns over the increasing number of accidents on the stretch of road.

“This is not just a statistic, it’s a life, a member of our community,” Odulate said. “As a leader and a human being, I share in the pain of this loss and will ensure urgent steps are taken to prevent further tragedies on this road.”

Following the on-site assessment, the council delegation visited the bereaved family to offer condolences. Odulate assured them that justice would be served and pledged that the individual responsible for the incident would face the full weight of the law.

“No life should be lost in vain,” he added.

The chairman and his team also visited the Ewusi of Makun Kingdom, Oba Timothy Akinsanya, to brief him on the incident and measures being considered. The monarch, according to Odulate, appreciated the swift response and pledged support for efforts aimed at ensuring public safety.

Odulate used the opportunity to appeal to motorists to drive responsibly.

“Do not drink and drive. Obey speed limits. And if you know you’re not capable or confident enough to drive, don’t get behind the wheel,” he warned. “It’s not just about you, it’s about the lives of others.”

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for the grieving family to bear the loss.
