Sagamu LG Chairman Mourns Victims of Fatal Lagos–Ibadan Expressway Crash, Sympathises with Anthony Joshua

The Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has expressed deep sorrow over a fatal road accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The accident, which occurred on Monday within the Makun axis of Sagamu Local Government Area, reportedly claimed the lives of two male foreign nationals. The victims were said to have died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck while en route from Lagos to Sagamu.
According to reports, the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Livewell Morgue in Sagamu, while Anthony Joshua and the driver of the vehicle were rescued from the scene and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
In a statement issued on behalf of the government and people of Sagamu Local Government, Odulate described the incident as sad and heartbreaking, particularly with the loss of lives.
He commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for God to grant them strength and comfort in the difficult time. The council chairman also wished those injured in the accident, including Anthony Joshua, a quick and full recovery.
Odulate further called on motorists to exercise caution on the roads, obey traffic regulations, and avoid reckless driving, especially during the festive period. He also appealed to security and road safety agencies to remain vigilant and proactive in monitoring highways to prevent avoidable road tragedies within Sagamu and beyond.
