Sagamu LG Holds 2025 Budget Retreat
The 2025 Budget Retreat of Sagamu Local Government was held with departmental directors and members of the executive cabinet in attendance. The retreat focused on the formal presentation and review of the proposed 2025 draft budget, presented by the Department of Budget Planning, Research, and Statistics under the leadership of Mrs. Akinbamisile A.O.
In the course of the session, directors made valuable contributions, especially on strategies to enhance revenue generation and expand project delivery capacity.
Alhaji Balogun Akeem, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) emphasized that every department holds the potential for revenue generation if existing gaps are identified and explored.
Mrs Akinbamisile while contributing, stressed the importance of maintaining a realistic and balanced budget that could produce a positive variance by year end.
During the retreat, departmental head was encouraged to engage in meaningful discussions with their portfolio’s political appointee. These conversations helped to align the departmental priorities with the overall vision for 2025, ensuring unity in planning and execution.
In Ogbeni Odulate, the Executive Chairman closing remarks, he appreciated both the executive cabinet and administrative heads for their presence, active participation, and invaluable contributions, which collectively made the retreat a resounding success.
He noted that this was the first retreat held outside the Local Government Secretariat, describing the atmosphere as refreshing and assured everyone that more retreats of this nature would be held going forward, as part of efforts to foster innovation, openness, and strategic planning.
