Sagamu Street was transformed into a ghost town this morning, as the much-anticipated nationwide protest officially commenced today, August 1st, 2024. The few individuals who dared to venture out appeared to be on the edge, their eyes scanning the horizon as if bracing for the unexpected.

This eerie calm is a direct consequence of the protest, which is expected to span 10 days from today, according to the Organised Body of Protesters. As the demonstration gains momentum across various locations in the federation, Sagamu has become a ghost town. Shops remain shuttered, motorists are scarce, and the once-bustling streets are now eerily empty.

The atmosphere is tense, with an air of uncertainty hanging heavy over the deserted landscape. As the day unfolds, we will provide continuous updates on the protest’s progression, bringing you the latest developments from Sagamu and perhaps, beyond. Stay tuned!
