Sagamu Youth Association Inaugurates New Executives, Inducts Pioneer Members

The Sagamu Youth Association has inaugurated its new executives and stakeholders as part of the 2024 Sagamu Day celebration youth activities.

 

His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo of Remoland, charged the new executives to maintain peace and unity in Sagamu and Remo, emphasizing the importance of continuity and development among youths.

Comrade Olugbenga Lawal, the newly inaugurated president, led the executives in taking their oath of office, promising to uphold the status quo of their offices. The inauguration ceremony also featured the induction of pioneer members, led by Comrade Emeritus Isiaka Salami (The pioneer president of SYA), into the hall of fame.

 

The Akarigbo also emphasized that the current peace in Sagamu should remain and continue to grow, encouraging the new executives to work towards this goal. The youth activities for Sagamu Day 2024 will continue on Thursday with an early morning rally and a gala night.

Members of the SYA new executives are; comrade Lawal Olugbenga (president), Shosanwo Muyideen (Vice president), Awofolu Oluwaseun ( Treasurer), Adebayo Yusuf (Gen. Sec), Ogunsona Olamide(PRO II), Odumosu Saheed (Asst. Auditor), Popoola Abdullahi (PRO), Bashiru Adewale (Special Duty1), Henry Olaitan Ogunkoya (Chief Whip 1).

 

Other executives are; Adebayo Anuoluwapo (Asst. Fin sec), Dumiye Bukola (Asst. Treasurer), Ogunkoya Stella (Chief Whip III), Shittu Waheed (Special Duty II), Soyombo Abiola (Welfare Director), Adesanya Adeolu (Special Duty III), Comrade Omooba Teslim Bello (Social Director), and Comrade Joseph Olu’ Ogunleye (Asst. Social Director).

 

While members of the Board of Trustees are; Comrade Fasasi Damilare (Chairman), Aare comrade Segun-Okeowo Kayode, Comrade Oyederu Oyewande, and Comrade Adebayo Saheed Otusanya.

 

In Honor of pioneer members who are late, a posthumous award was presented to their families by the Akarigbo of Remo land, In appreciation of their works and dedication. Furthermore, certificates were presented to all stakeholders, Hall of Fame members and the new executives.

 

Sydon J and Olucopper thrilled all audiences and attendees with their unique rap and music style, with youths and dignitaries applauding their talents.

 

“We are ready for the task ahead and we hope to give our best and completely change the narrative about sagamu youths” Comrade Olugbenga said.
