Sanitation Advisory Committee Inaugurated in Odogbolu Local Government to Enhance Waste Management Efforts

Sanitation Advisory Committee for Odogbolu Local Government in the Ijebu zone was inaugurated on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024. The ceremony took place at the council secretariat in Odogbolu town, officiated by the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government.

The newly inaugurated committee, led by HON. IRETIOLA A. ADENUGA, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Local Government and Chairperson of the Committee, is poised to play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness of the entire local government area.

The committee includes key members such as MR. IDOWU OLUYOMI, the Acting Director of Works, Engineering, and Services, who will serve as the Secretary of the Committee. Other members are ALHAJI QUADRY ADEWOLE ADESINA, the Local Government Area Community Development Committee Chairman, and MR. ADEFUYE ADEWALE, the representative of OGWAMA (Odogbolu Waste Management Authority).

The primary objective of establishing the Sanitation Advisory Committee is to enhance waste management efforts within the local government. By coordinating various stakeholders and leveraging the expertise of committee members, the initiative aims to create a sustainable and effective waste management system.

During the inauguration ceremony, HON. IRETIOLA A. ADENUGA expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the committee and emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The Acting Director of Works, Engineering, and Services, MR. IDOWU OLUYOMI, outlined the committee’s planned strategies for waste disposal, recycling, and community awareness programs.

ALHAJI QUADRY ADEWOLE ADESINA and MR. ADEFUYE ADEWALE, as committee members, pledged their commitment to working collaboratively with the local community to achieve the sanitation goals set by the committee.

With the establishment of the Sanitation Advisory Committee, Odogbolu Local Government takes a proactive step towards fostering a cleaner and healthier living environment for its residents, reinforcing the importance of proper waste management practices in the community.
