Senate President Akpabio Promises Nigerian Workers a Living Wage, Better Conditions

 

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerian workers that the National Assembly and the executive arm of government will work together to ensure they receive a living wage and improved working conditions.

 

In a statement released on Wednesday to commemorate the 2024 May Day, Akpabio declared that no Nigerian worker will be allowed to work under inhumane conditions, promising to give them the best they deserve.

 

Akpabio praised the sterling qualities of Nigerian workers, highlighting their patriotism, hard work, resilience, and dedication to duty. He also commended the theme for this year’s Workers’ Day, “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate,” promising that the National Assembly under his leadership is committed to ensuring the best working conditions for Nigerian workers, in line with international best practices.

 

The Senate President reiterated that Nigerian workers deserve the best and assured that the National Assembly will work collaboratively with the executive arm to achieve this goal.
