Stakeholders Commend Ogun State Government for Progress on Laderin-Wole Soyinka Train Station Access Road
Stakeholders have lauded the Ogun State Government for its ongoing construction of the access road connecting Laderin to the Wole Soyinka Train Station in Abeokuta. The project has garnered praise from officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), residents of the Laderin community, and commercial motorcycle operators who utilize the route for daily commutes.
A significant achievement was reached on Thursday with the successful asphalting of over 400 meters of the road. This initiative is part of a broader infrastructure development agenda under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, aimed at enhancing accessibility, mobility, and economic activity throughout the state.
NRC officials at the Wole Soyinka Train Station expressed their gratitude to the state government for the road construction. They noted that improved access will facilitate passenger movement and streamline logistical operations at the station.
Local residents and commuters have also recognized the positive changes brought by the project. One resident shared, “This road has been a major challenge for years, especially during the rainy season. The current construction has significantly improved access and commuting. We are thankful for the government’s efforts.”
Rail passengers arriving from Lagos, including Mr. Olumide Ajakaye and Mrs. Bolanle Akinwumi, praised the development, citing difficulties in reaching Abeokuta from the train station in the past. They described the new road as a timely and effective solution.
Commercial motorcycle operators, such as Patrick Solomon and Yahaya Abdulahi, echoed similar sentiments, noting enhancements in safety and a rise in business along the route due to the ongoing improvements.
Mr. Tayo Adedapo, a property owner in Laderin Estate, described the road project as transformative for the community. He believes that the upgraded infrastructure will elevate property values and spur further urban development in the area.
The Laderin–Wole Soyinka Train Station access road initiative is a vital aspect of the Ogun State Government’s comprehensive plan to expand the transportation network, foster urban growth, and enhance the overall quality of life for its residents.
