SUBEB Charges Teachers on School Maintenance

As public primary schools across Ogun State resumed for the 2024/2025 third term, teachers are being tasked to promote the maintenance of all government facilities within their schools.

During a monitoring visit to various public schools in the state, Dr. Mikail Lawal, Board Secretary of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. He also encouraged teachers to support the government’s efforts in delivering quality education.

Dr. Lawal observed that most students had returned to school and that teachers were conducting welcome assessments to gauge students’ readiness for the new term. He stated, “It is evident that learners are eager to resume school. Some are able to read questions on the board, and teachers have resumed as expected. Where we notice lapses, we instruct the Head Teachers to address them.”

He further urged school officials to continue supporting Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration in ensuring every child in the state has access to quality education.

In their reactions, Head Teachers Mr. Isiaka Olalere of St. Peters Primary School, Onipepeye, Obafemi Owode Local Government, and Mrs. Tawakalitu Olokuta of St. Peters Clavier’s Nursery and Primary School, Itesi, Abeokuta South, appreciated SUBEB for the visit and pledged to maintain their commitment to the learners’ development.

Other schools visited during the monitoring included African Church Primary School, Kerewu Oba, in Obafemi Owode, and Muslim Model Nursery and Primary School, Ago-Oko, in Abeokuta North Local Government, among others
