Super Eagles Set to Return to Abuja After Impressive AFCON 2023 Campaign

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, silver medallists in the Africa Nations Cup 2023, are scheduled to arrive in Abuja today from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The entire team, consisting of players and officials, will depart from their Pullman Hotel base to the airport at 1 pm local time and 2 pm Nigerian time, according to the team’s Media Officer, Babafemi Raji.

The team is expected to take off from Abidjan to Abuja at 2.45 pm local time, equivalent to 3.45 pm Nigerian time. Arriving in a chartered flight, the players and officials will be greeted with a reception in Abuja.

Despite losing 2-1 to the Elephants in the final of the continental football competition on Sunday night at the Olympic Stadium, Abidjan, the Super Eagles’ journey in AFCON 2023 was remarkable. Throughout the tournament, Nigeria won five games, drew one, and experienced their only defeat in the final match.
