The New Naira Note has caused Us A lot Of Problems – Sagamites Lament
The residents of sagamu on the 31th January 2023, laments to the fate of having to queue in bank for hours to get the new currency notes.
Just about some weeks ago, The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN promulgated a stop to the disburse and circulation of the old Naira notes, which has caused a great panic among Nigerians who have no access to the new notes either from Bank and other financial institutions.
Relating to this, the CBN added an extra week to the disbursement.
It was reported that the new note is not in circulation as the old currency was not accepted by traders, market women, commercial drivers and even the POS operators.
Talking to our correspondent, a source (name withheld) said,” This new Naira notes is causing a lot of things in the country, we are being pickpocketed in market, our business is stagnant, no one is paying with the new Naira notes without wanting to collect new notes as change”
A point of sales (POS) operator said, “Please this is getting too much, how did the government want POS operators to survive as the limit of withdrawal is 20,000 Naira per day”.
Transport workers, Market women, civil servant want the federal government to change the withdrawal limit and extends days of the currency disburse as it has affected their day-to-day living.
