Three Dead, 21 Injured in Tragic Ogun Road Crashes

 

A tragic series of road accidents in Ogun State has resulted in the loss of three lives and left 21 others injured.

The incidents occurred on Saturday at different locations, including the Iju bridge in Atan and Ayedade village in Obada, along major expressways.

Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the devastating accidents to reporters in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Detailing the accidents, Akinbiyi disclosed that five vehicles were involved in the mishaps. These included a Mazda bus with registration number AAA729YC, a Toyota Hiace bus registered as LND85YA, a Sino truck without a visible registration number, a Bajaj tricycle marked TTN58ND, and a Volkswagen bus with registration number APP 77 YD.

Tragically, three individuals lost their lives in these incidents, and 21 others sustained injuries of varying degrees. The deceased have been transferred to the State Hospital Mortuary in Ota and the Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Aro Abeokuta.

Akinbiyi further added that the vehicles involved have been taken to the Atan Divisional Police Station for further investigation.
