Tinubu extends Nandap’s tenure as Immigration chief until 2026.
President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Kemi Nandap as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026. The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In the statement, President Tinubu praised Nandap for her effective leadership and highlighted the progress made in areas such as border management, immigration modernization, and national security during her tenure.
Under Nandap’s guidance, the NIS has achieved significant advancements in fulfilling its core responsibilities, including enhancements in border control and the modernization of immigration processes.
“President Tinubu acknowledged Nandap’s exemplary leadership and encouraged her to continue focusing on the Service’s strategic priorities that align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement noted.
Nandap has been with the NIS since October 9, 1989 and was appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her original term initially set to conclude on August 31, 2025.
