Tinubu: My Reforms Are Yielding Results, Investor Confidence Restored

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hailed the “swift expansion of Nigeria’s capital market,” describing it as evidence of renewed investor confidence in his administration’s reforms.

He made the remarks on Tuesday in Brasília, Brazil, during a meeting with Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and members of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX).

Tinubu noted that since he took office, market capitalisation and trading activity have expanded significantly, creating more opportunities for both local and international investors.

He shared his thoughts in a post on his verified X account on Wednesday.

“Nigeria’s capital market is now one of Africa’s strongest signals of reform, resilience, and opportunity.

“In just over two years, our markets have grown stronger, deeper, and more trusted. They are proof that investor confidence is back and that our reforms are working.

“Here in Brazil today, I met with the leadership of the NGX Group, the Securities & Exchange Commission, and key capital market operators. I reaffirmed our strong commitment that Nigeria will continue to be Africa’s leading investment hub, guided by regulations that safeguard investors and reforms that drive sustainable growth.

We will keep creating access to capital, ensuring investor protection, and fostering innovation to make our economy work for both Nigerians and investors alike,” he wrote.
