Tinubu-Shettima to Receive Certificate Of Return On Wednesday

It has been revealed that Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima will be given the certificate of return on Wednesday 1st March 2023, following the announcement of his victory in the Presidential election.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was a former Lagos governor emerged as the president-elect in the early hours of Wednesday after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that he got 8,794,726 votes to win the polls.

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu stated that the former satisfied the requirements of the law as he announce Tinubu as the winner of the poll.

“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected”, Yakubu said.

Yakubu revealed that INEC would present the certificate of return to Tinubu and Shettima at the International Collation Centre in Abuja, that the move would give the commission enough time to plan for the gubernatorial election scheduled for March 11.

The INEC chairman said a statement would be issued later today on when the ceremony for senators and House of Representatives members-elect would commence.
