Tragedy Strikes on Lagos-ibadan Expressway: Six Lives Lost, Three Injured In Fatal Crash
A devastating auto-crash occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, around Verona, Ogere, Ogun State, resulting in the loss of six lives and leaving three others injured.
According to a statement released by the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Relations Officer, Florence Okpe, the crash involved a Toyota Sienna Space Bus with registration number EPE692EL and an unidentified moving truck.
Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed on the part of the Toyota Sienna driver led to the crash, which occurred when the bus rammed into the truck from behind.
The injured victims were rushed to Patmag Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention, while the corpses were deposited at FOS IPARA Morgue.
FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as an avoidable tragedy, emphasizing the need for motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic rules while driving on the highway.
The FRSC spokesperson extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
