Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has advised Victor Osimhen to take full responsibility for choosing the next chapter of his football career, emphasizing the importance of making a decision that aligns with his personal and professional goals.

Osimhen, who is widely expected to leave Napoli in a permanent transfer this summer, has been at the centre of intense transfer speculation. The 26-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he made a huge impact—winning both the Turkish Süper Lig and the League Cup, and finishing as the league’s top scorer with the Golden Boot.

Despite lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, Osimhen has reportedly rejected those proposals, signalling a strong desire to remain in Europe, where he believes he can still compete at the highest level and further his development.

“The decision should be his. Whether it goes well or not, he must own it,” Okocha said.

“I don’t believe in deciding someone’s future. He should choose what’s best for him and his family.”
