Two Accidents in Ogun State Claim One Life, Injuries 10 Others
Two separate accidents occurred on Wednesday on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, resulting in one fatality and 10 injuries.
According to the Commandant General of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Seni Ogunyemi, the first accident occurred on Wednesday at around 9 am on the Dalemo axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. A truck driver, who was driving in the wrong direction at high speed, lost control and hit a female pedestrian, killing her instantly.
The TRACE CG explained that the truck fell into a nearby drainage after the collision, and the deceased pedestrian was taken to Ifo General Hospital. The vehicle was recovered and towed to a police station for further investigation.
In the second accident, 10 travelers were injured when their Toyota Hiace Bus (Reg No. LSR 675 HP) skidded off the road due to a tyre burst on the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, near the Paramount FM axis. The vehicle somersaulted and veered into the bush, injuring six females and four males.
The injured occupants were rescued and taken to Ijaiye General Hospital for treatment. TRACE officials responded promptly to both incidents.
