UEFA to Honor Cristiano Ronaldo as All-Time Top Scorer

 

 

 

UEFA will recognize Cristiano Ronaldo’s unparalleled achievements in the Champions League by presenting him with a special award. The honor, to be bestowed by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, acknowledges Ronaldo’s status as the competition’s all-time leading scorer with 140 goals in 183 appearances.

 

The award ceremony will take place during the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League draw on Thursday, August 29, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

 

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward holds numerous records, including scoring in three separate finals and winning the competition five times.

 

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin praised Ronaldo, stating, “Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the brightest stars in the UEFA Champions League constellation. His extraordinary goal-scoring achievements seem destined to stand the test of time, posing a remarkable challenge for future generations to surpass.”

 

Ronaldo’s impressive career statistics include finishing as the top scorer in seven separate Champions League seasons, holding the record for most goals in a single season (17), and scoring an unprecedented eight Champions League hat-tricks.
