US GOVERNMENT PLEDGES TO SUPPORT NIGERIA’S CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND RESILIENCE CAPACITY PROJECT
The US government through its special envoy to Nigeria has affirmed its readiness to assist Nigeria in a bilateral partnership to realize its Climate Change adaptation and resilience capacity.
In a statement, the Vice president of Nigeria informed newsmen that “Recently we launched Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan and are seeking global support for the plan including G7 climate partnership status for Nigeria, while advocating a just and fair transition for Africa and improved carbon market participation for African countries”
The US Government’s support therefore has come as a form of relief and a means of ensuring the success of the planned project.
