WITH MORE FIRE RESCUE EQUIPMENT, WELL-TRAINED PERSONNEL, SAFETY IS SURE – SANWO OLU  

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was represented by this deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat during a symposium organized by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations with the theme, ‘Emergency system and the economy: Impacts and opportunities’ held at Ikeja GRA, has said with more equipment and well-trained personnel, the emergency fire and rescue services in the state will significantly improve.

He said, “From the onset of our administration, we have positioned our sustainable policy and programmes to strengthen the capabilities of the fire and rescue services in the state. We are convinced that with more equipment and well-trained and motivated personnel, the responses to emergencies will improve significantly.

“We also advise residents to work together with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services by not crowding up at the sites of fire incidents or attacking deployed emergency personnel.”

In his presentation, the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, disclosed that the state recorded 1,261 emergency responses and 5,076 incidents between January 2019 and September 2022.
